At the center of the second floor, The Hand of Nature invites the viewer into an immersive dialogue with nature: a green circular rug on which small ceramic sculptures rest, created daily by the artist during his morning ritual of shaping clay, each one unique and hand-decorated. This rug, produced by Carpet Edition, has a diameter of two meters and is made of New Zealand wool and Hardtwist with a shaggy finish, capable of evoking the natural, tactile effect of moss. The three-dimensional surface thus becomes a living support for Ciacciofera’s works, creating a poetic dialogue between textile art and sculpture, between texture and color, enhancing the sensory and conceptual experience of the installation.
The collaboration with Carpet Edition highlights how rug design can become a true artistic medium, capable of amplifying the artist’s narrative and poetic intent. The artisanal tufting technique, combined with the choice of fine materials, provides a tactile softness and three-dimensionality that complete and enhance the arrangement of the small ceramic objects.
Lettere Mediterranee thus confirms itself as a journey through the complexity of the Mediterranean, a place of memory and myth, where contemporary art and artisanal tradition meet in works that speak of time, nature, and creativity, making every detail—from the rug to the sculptures—an integral part of an immersive and engaging experience.
