Patchwork is born from the idea of recovering antique rugs and giving them new life. The rug is discolored with prolonged exposure to the sun, washed, dried, and re-dyed, cut into squares, and sewn together by hand. Each rug is unique in design and it’s studied in order to give visual balance to each piece and continuity to the Collection.
Unique Compositions
When an antique rug is too damaged to be fully restored, its story does not come to an end—it simply takes on a new form. The intact sections are carefully selected, cut, and skillfully reassembled by expert artisans into original compositions, where each fragment retains its own identity. The pieces are joined using the distinctive blanket stitch, a handcrafted seam that highlights every junction, enhancing the rug's geometric character while celebrating the authenticity of its patchwork construction.
